Charmouth Forest

We stayed for a week in a cottage at Stanton St Gabriel, near the Golden Cap in Dorset.

This photo was taken on a "five star walk" around part of Charmouth Forest, from a book of walks in West Dorset by Hugh Stoker.

As you can see, the weather was fine. In fact most of the week the weather was fine and it only rained on the two days that I did the washing. It was a bit cooler down on the coast so we were very happy to be out of the stifling heat of home.

    Jo,

It is a cottage owned by the National Trust and is one of several in a terrace. The details should be in their brochure.

In fact, now I remember, the name of the property is Ash cottage, and there is another called Oak cottage, and some others with names like that - you can search for it on the National Trust holiday website.

It is a perfect location, but the properties are more expensive than average to rent.

I could not contact you through your blog as the "enable blog share" button hasn't been ticked.
